esh appeared and learned that in her zeal for God she had fasted four days a week for eight months of her pregnan cy. They urged her to eat for the sake of her baby's nourishment. Visitors to Awasa saw more of a miracle than they realized.
Tekle attended a conference at the Philadelphia Church. In his sermon the preacher declared that Tekle had a demon which could only be cast out by the blood of a lamb, referring to Old Testament passages that describe a lamb's blood shed as a sacrifice.
Tekleraised hishand for permission to speak. 'T have a question. .
On hearing his voice, the whole crowd began shouting, "Blood! Blood!"
When nothing happened, the preacher said, "This man is possessed of a very stubborn demon who refuses to come out."
On another day at the conference, one of their proph ets, a huge, tall man, came toward him trembling, with outstretched arms and palms turned sideways. "You who sow tares among my people, I will cut you in half!" he denounced, as he hit Tekle on the head with all his might.
Tekle swayed, nearly fainting, but the Lord strength ened him.
An evangelist sitting nearby began to wail loudly. "Why are you crying?" Tekle asked.
"Because God is going to cut you in two," he an
swered.
