constant miracles keeps it going.
During Brother Harris's administration, the A.C.E.
learned the high value of unity, and that close harmony with the missionaries and leaders of the church paid a rich dividend of revival. They have not forgotten.
God's will sent John Harris home in 1982, and the Foreign Missions Division selected Brother Freeman as the new superintendent of Ethiopia. In God's order, one person is not an exact replacement of another in a church leadership position, but each person must fill his post as Jesus leads. Enthusiastic cooperation has made the superintendencya never failing joy. When Erkenesh and Tekle heard of the appointment, they declared, "Ethiopia will be blessedabundantly, not only by Brother Freeman walking in our land, but also with the words of his mouth."
For three years, each time she prayed, Erkenesh heard herself repeating over and over, "Jemjem, Jem- jem, Jemjem!" She wondered what the word meant. Only later did she learn that it was the name of a place where God triggered a holy chain reaction that exploded in revival and persecution. God directed her to Isaiah 65:1: "I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said. Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name."
In 1983 three Lutheran churches held a joint, one- day conference in Guji in the Jemjem area. As the people shouted, danced, leaped, and spoke in tongues, the three pastors went outside to discuss this
strange situation. A student from the Apostolic church 200
