The importance of
User Management
on Shared Portals
In today’s digital age, the topic of Cybersecurity has never been more
important, and dispensing practices are certainly not immune from risk.
As dispensary’s and practices move towards digital solutions to improve
efficiencies, we open up the risk of our data potentially being more visible
which can potentially cost the practice both financially but also reputationally.
Ordering portals have become a vital tool for customers, allowing multiple users
to access, share, and order products seamlessly. However, with the convenience
of shared access comes the responsibility of ensuring that user management
practices are robust and effective. This article explores the importance of
regularly checking which users you have active on the PSUK portal or any
other ordering portal, how to be removing old users, monitoring statements and
invoices for unusual purchases.
Regular user audits
One of the primary reasons for checking users on a shared portal
such as the PSUK ordering portal, is to maintain security. Over time,
GP practices may see turnover in staff, project completions, or
changes in roles. If these former users retain access to the portal,
it poses a significant security risk. Regular audits help identify and
remove old or inactive users, ensuring that only current staff have
access to sensitive information and ordering abilities.
Recognising the importance of security, we made a change to our
portal a few years ago meaning that rather than having one log in for
everyone in the practice to use – each individual can have their own
login using their unique email address.
Creating new users
It is important that everybody that uses the PSUK
portal, or any other ordering portal in your practice has
their own unique log in. This give you the control to
manage access when you need to.
Creating a new user is relatively straight forward on
the PSUK portal. Simply go to the ‘Account Dashboard’
menu and you will see the ability to add new your users
and the access you want them to have.
If you are a practice
that uses the
Phoenix Portal
‘MyPin’ contact your
account manager
to add users.
