9 miles south of Louisville and stretches to the
Bullitt County line. Named for a legendary oak tree,
Okolona was once named Lone Oak. However, upon
gaining knowledge that there was already a Lone
Oak located near Paducah, KY, they rearranged the
words and came up with: Okolona. The oak tree no
longer stands, but there are plenty of trees shading
                the neighborhood.
