“This Football Index lark,” says our friend New Trader, “It’s so bloody boring. I think
I’m going to give up.”

We’re gagging to explain how we’ve managed a Return on Investment of 17.61 in
seven days. “It started with Jamie Vardy,” we begin.

But New Trader cuts us short. “I bought nineteen Gareth Bale, remember?”

How could we forget.

“Paid £5.19 each. It’s been a whole week. Gone up two measly pence. It’s a start, I
suppose. But it’s like watching paint dry. I thought it was going to be exciting. I
thought I was going to make money.”

In fairness to New Trader, Gareth Bale’s price did shoot up to £8 after his Champion’s
League Final heroics . . . only to shoot right back down in the wake of Zidane
Zidane’s shock resignation.

Should you be buying? Well having read this far, then whatever you decide will be
based on something other than the fact that Gareth is now a father of three – or so
New Trader tells us.

So let’s close with a few words about expectations. If you start on Football Index
with £100, don’t expect to get yacht-rich overnight.
