 like more personal advice in the fu- ture. Only a small proportion of those surveyed are considering whether a relationship manager will be needed at all in the future.
What is more important:
The bank or the adviser?
In all three countries, customer loyal- ty to the bank is more important than loyalty to the adviser.
From the client's point of view, the fi- nancial stability of a bank is the most
relevant feature when choosing a main bank for asset issues.
Branches in the immediate vicinity do not seem to be particularly important, instead, more importance is given to online access to banking services.
Adjustment to new framework conditions
Increased investor protection and stricter banking regulation in the wake of the financial crisis have had a major impact on customer business in re-
cent years. There are clear differences, especially in comparison with other countries: While most German re- spondents feel better protected, only half of the Swiss respondents and a fraction of the Austrian respondents agree on this. The Swiss are particu- larly critical of the increase in bureau- cracy associated with regulation.
