Closing Banquet
Inevitably all good things must come to an end. On Saturday Night
attendees gathered together for a reception and dinner to mark the close
of the TTMA 75 Annual Convention.
th
The event began with a video address from former TTMA member
Mike White, Hutchens Industries (ret.), who regrettably was not able to
be there in person. Mr. White presented a special 75 anniversary
th
poem and called to raise a toast to another 75 more years! Thank you
Mr. White for your warm wishes and good cheer!
Chairman Dale Jones with Andy Andrews
Chairman Dale Jones gave a closing address which summed up the spirit
of this convention, which was TTMA’s past, present and future. Chairman
Jones spoke of a recent event at Timpte, Inc. during which young students
were invited to come and see what they do and introduce them to the
world of manufacturing and all the technological innovations that exist
within it that they may not be aware of. Chairman Jones concluded his
address with a call to action to every member to make an effort to engage
young talent and encourage them in a future in our great industry.
Following Chairman Jones’ address we were proud to welcome our keynote speaker, New York Times bestselling author,
Andy Andrews. Mr. Andrews spoke of what it truly means to be successful and of the qualities most important to an
individual’s growth - hope, faith, and perseverance. Mr. Andrews spoke straight from the heart, his message shaped from
his own life experiences. The loss of both of his parents at the age of 19 forever changed his life’s path. Within a short
time, he found himself homeless and without direction. This change in circumstances forced Mr. Andrews to ask himself a
simple question: "Is life just a lottery ticket or are there choices one can make to direct his future?"
Mr. Andrews delivered a presentation that was witty, engaging and thought-provoking. It was the perfect close to this
very special event. Mr. Andrews left us with the message that as we move forward towards the next 75 years, our future is
what we decide to make of it.
Let’s make it a great one.
“…To all those moments still alive, let’s launch another 75…”
