Thank you for being diligent! But as we head into the summer break, and the
stakes are much higher now. Imagine how much energy would be wasted if
the lights and air conditioning were left on all summer in a portable classroom.
In our last issue, we talked about Peak Load Management (PLM) and how our
energy use during the summer affects the price that MCPS will pay for energy
use all next year. Please remember to find ways to minimize the amount of
lights and equipment that remain on starting at 3:00 p.m. from June 21
through August 22, 2017. The shutdown process for chillers should begin at
3:45 p.m. and that the chillers should be off from 4:00-5:00 p.m. each day.
Please call the EMS Hotline (301-252-3522) if the chiller is still on at 4:00 p.m.
