Signature Iftar Dinner-June 2016
Nihal Balci (above) was the mc for the event and she
talked about the significance of Ramadan to those of
the Muslim faith.
Ramadan is a month of intense prayer and is a time
for believers to detach from wordly pleasures and to
spend time focusing on one’s inner self. Ramadan
entails dawn to dusk fasting and nightly feasts after
the sun has gone down with family and friends.
After sunset, the VIU students, faculty and
staff broke the fast for the day by enjoying a
nice meal together.
