From the time it was Taken from his hip Cole Younger’s gun Made quite a trip
At his capture it Was cons vacated And through the years Became celebrated
In dollars when it came Time to sell the gun
It sold for three Hundred thousand
One would think the guns worth Came from Cole’s outlaw days But I think Cole’s spirit Side deserves much praise
An outlaw’s gun
It was of course
But it’s true worth came From an unseen source
This is this poet’s slant Yes, I think it’s true Cole’s spirit behind The gun is what drew
