Sitting on his porch
To his nephew Cole spoke A very profound Poetic antidote
Much time had passed Decades in fact
But in that moment Cole’s thoughts went back
As though hypnotized Cole looked at the ground Shaking his head
As the rain pounded down
And as was reported
By Cole’s nephew to a friend Cole said that’s the stuff That put us in the pen
Yes they were wounded As it was anyway And in those woods rain Fell day after day
Cole said it was not The rainy season But being saved now Cole knew the reason
Mysterious ways God has does He not Cole knew he got saved Because he got caught
Cole`s Last Interview
´´I am getting to be an old man and I`m not afraid of death. If I had been wrong I would not have been permitted this happiness here in this life.``
Then Cole lifted his infant nephew onto his lap, winked at the reporter and said,
´´What more could a worn out old bandit ask beyond this?``
Matthew Chapter 18, Verses I 1-13.
e Son of man has come to save that which is lost. What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave
the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he shall nd it, assuredly I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than
the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
