told that I would not get admission to any Engineering Branch at IIT Mumbai, which was the closest to my parent’s home and also I would not possibly get admission to highly regarded branches of Engineering in any of the 5 IITs. I was highly upset. But, my father assured me that everything would turn out to for the good with Shirdi Saibaba’s grace. I did go for my admission interview to Mumbai with my elder sister who was very smart, but was not at all knowledgeable about Engineering. I was able to get admission to any branch of Engineering study in the highly respected College of Engineering at Pune. But, I was interested in a highly sought out branch of study in the IIT. We were hosted at one common friend’s small apartment within the IIT Mumbai research scholars’ quarters. This research scholar was a brother in law ofone of my father’s disciples (Mr. Shashi Patwardhan). I was finding it difficult to rest at night due to my poor ranking in the IIT selection results. Ultimately, I slept in the early hours of morning. I had a dream where Shirdi Saibaba appeared and told me that I was going to be admitted in IIT. This made me happy. Next day, we went for the actual interview. No Engineering branch in Mumbai was available. The only Engineering branches available were Agriculture and Civil in IIT Kharagpur. This IIT was located in West Bengal. We had no idea of this place and it was the farthest from Pune. And, I was not happy with these two branches. I talked with the Dean of Admission, Mr. Chandiramani and told him my dissatisfaction. On seeing my situation, he told me that I could only get into these two branches and that I should accept Civil Engineering. He said that there was a likelihood of one person with a higher ranking who hadjoined the Aeronautical Engineering studies, but who may relinquish it later due to his going elsewhere. Mr. Chandiramani told me that he would offer me Civil Engineering as a confirmed branch of study and Aeronautical as a provisional branch to be confirmed in
