zero doubt in his mind about what he spoke. This is how I realized what a saint is, as compared to a Yoga Master, or an ordinary Yoga Teacher like me.
My father was always very watchful when he found me reading some spiritual books, yoga material or even health material. He dissuaded, but in very short sentences or without much repetition when he found that the material I was reading or studying was not authentic. Very seldom, but surely he even told me not to read certain world famous person stating that the source is not authentic or is problematic. Later, I found that the source was either incomplete or bogus.
I met my first Hathayoga teacher in Kerala during my apprenticeship training at Indian Space Research Center. I studied only 10 hours with him. His name was Pandit Balakrishna Sharma. He told me that I was a very dedicated Yoga person and I will become established in Yoga. My father supported my studying with him and also my later keeping in touch with him including sending some donations. Also, during my five months vacation in 1985, Guruji BKS Iyengar and his son Prashant invited me to study Yogasana with them due to a certain event. I had an opportunity to study Yogasana for 5 months, almost 6 hours a day. My father highly supported this activity. He once asked me whether I obtained everything I was looking for. I said, “no, I obtained good knowledge of Yogasana, but not everything what I was looking for”. I clearly remember my father’s smile approving my statement, which reflected in my mind that I could not reach my final goals without my father’s grace. I think he even told me this explicitly once or twice in my life, but I do not remember this exactly.
