My father used to give a small discourse during these Thursday prayers. He told me himself that on several occasions he himself did not know what he was saying. But later he learnt that he had described some things that he had not read or heard of. These statements automatically sprung from his speech. [Illustration 15: an example of my father’s discourse]
There was one atheist police officer in Pune (I do not remember the name.) who condemned all sorts of worship. During one Thursday prayers, my father stated that that very officer was performing a Satyanarayana Puja (an extremely popular worship ritual associated with Shree Vishnu) worship at his home. On hearing this, one attendee of the Thursday prayer actually went by bicycle to the home of the officer and noticed that the officer was indeed performing the worship.
This is a somewhat serious story. On one occasion, a girl who was nearing her death was brought to the Thursday prayer. She was shown to my father for possible survival. However, when she entered the shrine of the temple the girl suddenly died. There would have been a commotion followed by possible legal enquiry on this matter. At this time, my father’s eyes were full of tears for a long time and he was praying silently. Nobody knew why he was in continuous tears. He prayed to his guru Shree Krishnanatha Maharaj for help. Suddenly, the girl stood up as if from sleep and she said loudly asking for Udhi, the sacred ashes. My father immediately recognized the voice of his guru, as the girl spoke with guru’s male voice. My father handed ashes to her and her parents. He asked them to take the girl to home immediately, which they did. After some time, the girl died at her home and my father telepathically learnt that his guru had then left the body. Such
