The TCP/IP Model – Layer 2
• The device at Layer 2 that we’ll study is the switch. A switch operates at Layer 2, runs
Ethernet protocol, and uses MAC Addresses. Devices that are connected to the same
switch can communicate directly with each other. The switch uses the MAC Address of the
devices to find the correct destination device on the data link.
