Frequently Asked Questions
11/24/15
Q: What application is the Hawk system used for?
A: The Hawk system is used for VRLA Battery Applications.
Q: What is the system made out of?
A: The Hawk system walls are made out of polypropylene.
Q: How is the system bolted to the ground?
A: The Hawk system comes with L brackets, by request, that get bolted to the floor, these are always placed between the
cabinets.
Q: Is the Hawk system less expensive than the Eagle system and the Condor system?
A: Yes. The Hawk system is the least expensive of the above named.
Q: What information is needed in order to size a Hawk system for (a) cabinet(s)?
A: To size a Hawk system correctly, we need to know the cabinet width and depth, the number of cabinets, if the cabinets are
side by side, and if the UPS cabinet is connected to the battery cabinet(s).
Q: There is not very much room under the cabinet(s), do the pillows still get placed in there?
A: Yes. The Hawk system comes with special VRLA pillows, which are 1 inch in thickness and should fit under the cabinet(s).
Q: Can the Hawk system be installed inside the battery cabinet?
A: It is not recommended to install the system within the cabinet because it restricts air flow, however, our application engineers
can review your specific application.
Q: How thick are the Hawk system barrier walls?
A: The barrier walls are 1/2 an inch thick.
Q: If a Hawk system size is LL - WWW, is that the inside or outside dimensions?
A: The system size is the inside dimensions. Because the barrier walls are 1/2 an inch thick, the outside dimensions of your spill
containment would be 1 inch larger: LL + 1 - WWW + 1.
Q: Can the Hawk walls be made in a different color?
A: Yes, grey walls are available upon request. These walls may be subject to an additional cost and extended lead time.
