He sat in his seat uneasily as his anxiety slowly rose and sorted the mail. “Hmm, a package for me?”
He slit the small parcel open along the seam with his pocket- knife, reached in, and pulled out a note.
“Seige, help. My name is Tom. You busted me a few years ago and helped me afterward. I want to return the favor. I slipped this package out luckily. Come to 1456 Lakewood Pines, ready for action. Please trust me, I have crossed the boss and will only be here until they kill me. Rescue me as soon as you can, and I will give you the creator of Blue Heaven and a whole lot more. Don’t tarry, Tom.”
Seige sat speechless. He turned the letter over and checked the postmark on the front, springing to his feet and catapulting the rest of the mail onto the floor.
“It’s time to move now,” he said to himself. “This is what we’ve been looking for.”
He thought quickly of team members close in close proxim- ity. He called three members of his force, placed a note to his wife in an envelope, and headed for the door. Reaching the car, he removed two bags from the trunk and threw them into the side window before sliding in. Finally, he started up and peeled out of the driveway just as the phone rang.
Sienna arrived home twenty minutes later and parked her car. She effortlessly unlocked the door, went into the front room, and grabbed the television remote. In almost the same instant, she noticed the mail on the floor. Two computer discs fell from a package as she picked up the pieces. Laying the rest of the mail down, she smiled hoping the special software her father prom- ised her had finally arrived while searching the package and thinking how strange it was that there were no instructions in- cluded.
“No problem,” she thought. “Now I can get serious.”
