“I know they are in heaven,” she uttered, and I also know they both know we love them more than anything.”
“I have got to find a place to stash you two,” said Visara “before you are found by the hit list.”
“Hit list! What damn hit list?” Jennifer questioned. “Why in God’s name does anyone want to destroy my family?”
“It’s not just your family. If my guess is right, there are other families in jeopardy and it has nothing at all to do with anything you did,” Visara explained.
“What, then?” Sienna asked.
I have a hunch, and if it’s correct, then there are some dan- gerous leaks inside our organization,” Visara declared. “If it’s from the outside, it may be even worse.”
I can’t believe my babies are gone, Jennifer thought aloud and started to cry again. “Innocent little boys. Never had a real chance at life, and now they’re gone.”
Sienna now comforted her mother in an embrace.
“I don’t know who but someone is going to pay for this,” Jennifer menaced, changing her tone. “Just think. If we had all been home, my God, they probably would have killed the whole family!”
“Mom,” Sienna said, still holding Jennifer, “I love the boys as much as you do, and there is nothing on earth that can make us forget them. As long as we survive, we can make them pay.
“Hold on,” said Visara. “That’s my department—just like keeping you two alive. Let me worry about that, okay?”
“I just can’t imagine someone so vicious that they would kill little boys in cold blood. We are dealing with real scum here,” Sienna exclaimed.
“Here, let me take that rucksack off of your back,” Jennifer said. “I know it’s your second skin, but you must be tired of it by now.”
“Actually, it is a little uncomfortable. Thanks.”
Sienna removed her rucksack and checked the disks to see if any were damaged.
