informed each member that the group was meeting back at the cabin to await further instructions.
Tom, who had been traveling with Paul, was busy trying to think of an escape plan in case Seige didn’t show. It had to be the right address, for it was the only Seige Key in the book.
“I just hope he hasn’t moved,” he said to himself.
Paul and Tom walked around the amusement park searching desperately for anything that could be used as a weapon. Paul spotted a piece of steel pipe about a foot long leaning against the side of a concession stand they approached. He whispered its location to Tom as they walked ahead of Leonard. Paul looked around frantically, but Tom told him to be cool and not attract attention. Both stopped at the edge of the booth and started play- ing the coin toss game. While Paul played, Tom casually looked around for Leonard and couldn’t find him. Paul continued to play for another fifteen minutes when he ran out of change. He went to get more, but Tom faked being out of change after spot- ting Leonard on the opposite side of the booth.
“Go ask Leonard over there,” he said.
Understanding the plan, Paul moved out without hesitation. The second Paul blocked Leonard’s view; Tom squatted, snatched the pipe, and straightened immediately holding it by his side. He turned his head and noticed Leonard looking elsewhere. Then he crossed his arms trapping the pipe in his left armpit under his windbreaker. When he looked again, Paul was walking away from Leonard.
“Please tell me you got it,” Paul said as he reached Tom. “Ooooo Yes,” he said smiling. “Now play some more quick! Paul looked at Leonard who was replacing his pager and
starting to move toward them.
Tom was about to speak when a voice behind them said,
“Gentlemen, it’s time to leave.”
Paul was so shocked by the sound that he knocked all the
prizes he had won from the counter. Tom bent down with him to assist with the prizes while casually readjusting the bar trapped
