 142 JAGGEDEDGE
“You don’t look like you’re captive.”
“My God, man, if the others are headed toward the cabin they could be headed for ambush!”
“Just keep your hands where I can see’ em,” the guard re- plied, pulling out a radio. “Tango Foxtrot One,” said the guard on the radio. “Come in, Tango Foxtrot One.”
“This is Tango Foxtrot One, and you had better have a good reason for breaking radio silence, Two,” came the voice on the other end.
“There is a man here who claims he sent you a rescue let- ter.”
“Bring him down the road quickly.”
“Let’s go,” said Marcus.
“Halt!” Seige blurted, walking up to the trio. “Quick, de-
scribe what you sent?”
“It was a package,” said Tom, “and it had a note with two

the bushes. “Is there anything in particular we should know go- ing in?”
“The boss is in the process of cutting off loose ends, Tom replied, if you know what I mean.”
“I follow you,” Seige confirmed.
“We were given a break after finishing a job, and Corin was calling us back for the kill.”
“Corin. Is that the boss’s name?”
“Yes. Two of us escaped, killed our guard, and were on our way to rescue our friends.”
“It’ll be dark shortly. So before your friends get fried, give me the layout of the cabin.”
Under the full moon, Tom drew the layout of the cabin and showed where the prisoner’s rooms were.
“The doors to the rooms are always open, so we can’t escape. And there is some kind of luminous tape that glows in the dark covering each window.” Tom intimated.
