himself as his teammate played the drunk to the hilt stepping into the street again.
Screech! Came the loud sound from the wheels of a green van coming around the corner. The sound caused Sky to sweep his scope to the right as the van accelerated heading left. It al- most ran over his teammate as he jumped from the street to the sidewalk with a nanosecond to spare. He came to his feet fairly quickly surprised by the brush with death. The van peeled rub- ber and screeched to a halt next to the picket fence in front of the mark. Before it stopped, the passenger door burst open. A lone figure jumped out running toward the fence, cross reaching into her pants. The hands uncrossed displaying two automatics, as she spun around extending both guns at arms length to the side. The violent whirl threw her hat off sending long locks of hair flowing. In almost the same instant, she drew a bead on a target to her left and fired. In disbelief Sky saw his partner play- ing the drunk go down for the count. Almost before he hit the ground, the woman snapped her head to the right to fire again. Before her brain transmitted the message to fire, her neck ex- ploded throwing her backwards and impaling her on the picket fence. Sky placed one bullet into her chest and one into her throat.
The rear doors of the green van burst open revealing four figures scurrying from the van toward the sidewalk. Not one moved more than four steps. Sky had placed a bullet in the base of each neck almost decapitating two. As the last man fell, the wheels of the van started to spin attempting escape. The van moved eight feet before Sky changed magazines. He placed sev- eral shots in the side of the van, and two into each rim and tire on the driver’s side.
“Damn. Fucking damn,” thought Sky to himself, as the re- mains of the van moved out of the area.
Spotting a setup too late was a mistake he vowed to himself never to make again. The van sped up moving erratically down the street beyond the corner.
