“Well damn. I’ve never heard you so expressive before. What about your combat gear, Seige asked.
“I keep it with me in the trunk next to my bag at all times.”
“I thought I knew you pretty well. What the hell was I think- ing?”
“What do you mean? Don’t tell me you honestly didn’t know I’ve always wanted to be in the fight.”
“Nah, that’s not it. I just learned that when you get riled you don’t leave much room for conversation. So I guess we better give you a chance to get that gear dirty.”
“Thanks, Boss. I’ll do you proud.”
“I may be losing my mind but you’re in. I expect you to follow orders like the rest of the men.”
“Yes, Sir. What are they?”
“I need to be alone for a little while. Tell Marcus to inform all Talon members to meet at rally point Yankee at 1500 hours Zulu for the operations order.”
“Yes, Sir,” she said.
“Also,” Seige added, “tell him to prepare the captives’ for interrogation.”
“Yes, Sir,” she replied.
“I love you, and you know I always have,” Seige acknowl- edged softly. And thanks for always being there. I really need that.”
“You’re welcome, Seige. And I always will love you,” she returned, and the two embraced again.
They slowly broke away, and Visara walked toward the back door. Turning around, she said with a smile, “Seige, aren’t you glad we never complicated our relationship with sex?”
He raised his head to look at her smiling wistfully and asked, “Can I get back to you on that?”
He stayed in the backyard long enough to outline a plan in his mind then walked into the house.
We’ll take it from here,” Seige said, relieving one of his men guarding Tom.
