Seige looked at his watch and jumped to his feet as he backed away from the building’s edge. His heart was beating like a trip hammer.
“Who got the guard on the roof?” he inquired.
“Visara,” Jason told him, “took him out in midair. She’s wait- ing by the door.”
Seige and the rest of the team were preparing their gear and heading for the door as it opened. A man walked out with a gun. Before he could extend his hand, Visara struck him hard in the back of the head. Then she knelt down to tie and gag him. Mean- while, Jason went over to check inside the door and re-emerged giving the all clear. The entire team, clad in black, moved in rapidly.
“Remember,” Seige warned, looking at his watch, “we will have about ten minutes of darkness then we’ll have to remove the night vision goggles because the generators will probably be kicking in. Let’s do this!”
Just as his men gathered in their mini assault groups, the electricity went out. The force rushed in, cleared the top three floors, and moved downstairs without encountering another guard. However, they heard a commotion on the twelfth floor, which caused them to rush downstairs and take up positions on either side of the door where the noise originated.
“Okay, point move out,” said Seige.
Two men went through the door into the hallway hugging the walls on either side. Two by two the entire team moved through the doors except one man left in the stairwell for security. Two team members entered the first room on the left, and a few si- lenced shots were heard prior to them coming out. The rest of the team continued down the hallway clearing rooms until they reached the elevator. Nimble as cats; they moved back to the stairwell and proceeded to the next lower level. This process was repeated until they had cleared the floor. In the stairwell, Seige stopped the group and told them, lose the night vision it was time for the generators to kick in.
