  V Seige’s Reunion
The air felt as if it had been charged with electricity. Even his skin was dry, but Seige knew that it was only life. He wondered how many people had to deal with the types of prob- lems he had. He wouldn’t wish them on anyone else. A fallen comrade, he had to say goodbye to weighed heavy on in his mind. There was a security leak somewhere within the organiza- tion and for the life of him he could not point the blame. He had searched his director’s face for any sign of a clue, but there was none. Visara joining the team suddenly from an overseas vaca- tion had made him more than a little uneasy.
He remembered when they both joined the FBI as candi- dates. Seige had to admit that in the brain and brawn categories few men were her equal. She could do all sorts of things with a computer and still kick the hell out of most of the men he knew. He figured her father must have really wanted a boy to train his daughter so severely. She was a fantastically beautiful woman, yet her mannerisms were strictly male. Remembering times they were on a special mission together. Seige recalled were single and knew the only thing that kept them from touching or kissing was their mutual respect for each other and their deep friend- ship. He was sure on each opportunity that she felt the same way. Even when he got married their love for each other never faltered. He was sure it was better left unsaid and untouched. Visara and his first wife, Anita, became the best of friends.
