Anita treated Visara like a sister and never considered her a threat. And Visara gave herself to Seige’s family as if it were her own. She started his daughter, Sienna, in Kung Fu at four and became Anita’s best friend. She almost always had time to baby- sit his little ones whom she knew as well their mother.
When Seige married Jennifer, Visara was treated as office help because Jennifer saw the flame between them as a threat. She was cordial when Visara was around, but everyone felt the friction. Only Seige understood.
Jennifer and Seige met in court as opposing forces. He was instrumental in the prosecution of a high profile money launderer who had added murder to his trade. Jennifer acted in the killer’s defense. As the trial drew out, neither adversary wanted to concede. One day after the trial, Jennifer was leaving the supermarket. Sud- denly she was apprehended upon reaching her car. When she fell in her high heels trying to escape her abductors, a little boy was killed from the abductor’s bullet intended for Jennifer. The shooter fell with his gun as Seige’s bullet crushed his side killing him. In the same instant, a limousine sped toward him. Seige instinctively emp- tied his gun into the windshield before diving into a truckbed. Jennifer’s client and the driver were dead in the back seat of the limo before it collided with the truck.
Jennifer had previously convince the judge that her cli- ent should be released on his own recognizance. Her determination made Seige want to know this forthright woman who fought so hard for her beliefs, so they started dating about the time that Jennifer was contemplating quitting law. He dis- covered that she was a very sensual and caring woman once her lawyerly skepticism was pierced. They both realized that whenever one is in the business of being society’s shield, a part of the individual has to die in order that the rest of the person can survive. As time passed, they vowed to heal each other with their mutual love and understanding.
