Seige drove up in his car and sat for a few seconds being absorbed by the warm sweet air surrounding home. He had a few last fleeting thoughts of what to do for the next several days the task force was off and got out of his car. Turning around he saw movement from the corner of his eye and with a faint smile of ecstasy quickly caught his now seventeen-year-old daughter who was already airborne. They latched each other as two railcars colliding and becoming one. She had left the ground with her arms and legs waiting to encircle him not having a second thought of missing. Locked in each other’s embrace and motionless for several minutes, they could not be disturbed. Both had ques- tions, both wanted to speak, they dared not allow sound to break the bond. Their silent embrace spoke volumes to any observer’s eyes. Slowly, almost simultaneously their heads moved; smiles exchanged the embrace renewed. Tears flowed from them both, I love you daddy, she said breaking the spell. I know sweetheart I love you too. He carried her into the house where his eldest son, Randy, barred their path.
Feeling Randy in front of him, Seige looked down at the boy hugging his leg. Smiling he reached down, grabbed Randy un- der his arm and picked him up. Almost mechanically his son’s tiny arms locked around his neck like a vice. He was oblivious to his sister; he just wanted to hold onto dad. Sienna leaned back slightly and exchanged smiles with Seige and then lowered herself to the floor away from him. She smiled at her father and turned in time to catch Brandon her youngest brother falling in his exuberance to get his turn. In one motion, She scooped him from his fall, taking him airborne and planting him beside his brother allowing the three males to bond. Seige moved forward sitting at the base of the stairs with his sons in a group hug. With his eyes closed he marveled at the overflowing love he received from his reunion with each of his children.
He finally put the boys down, as they held on for dear life resisting the force of gravity. Both boys smiled at each other, kissed Seige’s cheek, let go, and immediately started running
