At that moment, he couldn’t help thinking that despite the nega- tive forces of the world his boys were turning out all right. As twins, they were both always full of energy always competing beyond whatever they knew. Maybe they were just too much like him. It didn’t really matter; they were just good kids. Neither over five years old, both were more than a handful.
As for Sienna, pride was the only word he could use to ex- press his admiration for her. When she was a little one, he adored her immensely. He looked back at the upbringing she had to endure and honestly wished he could reverse it. Her mother, Anita was so busy being in charge of a temp agency that she had very little time for her during the day. All of Seige’s time was spent enjoying and teaching Sienna. He literally took charge of her development. And learning quickly to change, bathe, feed, and play with her, Seige became his daughter’s constant com- panion. They went on long walks and runs with Sienna on his back in a rucksack. He carried her in so many weird positions that they were always the subject of attention. Even being car- ried by her ankles upside-down behind him, she simply waved at passersby as if it were normal. By her fourth birthday, she was starting to learn computers and Kung Fu. Being skinny and a girl gave Sienna a size and strength disadvantage, but by seven years of age, she had overcome both and constructed a back- yard dojo. By nine, she had an insatiable appetite for technology and martial arts.
Then the night she received her second black belt, Anita was killed. Sienna took it hard and for six months in school, she was a quiet terror. Her grades went down, but her aggression went up.
