David: with. The business grew to be quite large. In 2007, David

David: We began to do very well in 2005. It was extremely
successful. We were beginning to become known as very
reliable and solid. Many of our US & Canadian customers

and were impressed, very favorably impressed.

Interloop that set the company apart from other

Interviewer: Tell us a little bit about your experience prior David: The thing that makes Interloop special, and it did
to working for Interloop. when I went over there for the first time in 2002, is the
degree of integrity of the two brothers. Every time this is
David: I began working in the sock industry with the largest mentioned to Musadaq or Navid, they say, “Oh no, it’s our
companies; one was Chipman-Union which had the adidas employees; our employees are wonderful”. But to me, it all
license and Odor Eaters license. Chipman-Union was
quite powerful until it lost the adidas license. Then I went to
Renfro and worked there for six years. I was the
International person for Renfro. I speak a few languages
so that enabled me to get into International.

After working for 15 years in the sock industry with large
companies, David could see that the industry was
undergoing a shift, with many companies seeking to import
socks. He decided to strike out on his own in the
international sock market. He spent quite a lot of time and
money traveling back and forth from United States to
China and Vietnam in search of a factory partner. He was
not satisfied with the results and decided it was time to try
                something different.
Interviewer: Tell us how you came to work with Interloop?
David: I found out from my wife Judith that Pakistan made
socks. I did not know this, which was not a good thing. So,
believe it or not, we typed the words “Socks & Pakistan”
into the computer and about 10 decent companies came
up; Interloop, Gulzar, Textilers, Dynamic and others. I
wrote to them. I got answers. I made appointments. I went
to Karachi and Lahore and saw three companies. The man
at Dynamic who was a friend of Musadaq and Navid said,
“You are really going to enjoy going to Interloop, it’s quite a
                good company”.
David was impressed with Interloop’s modern facilities and
enjoyed meeting with Musadaq and Navid. Together, they David, Musadaq & Naveed amidst the Colorful Street Art of Sao Paulo, Brazil
