The BAYADA Way of Operating an Office: Home Care May 2019
Background and Purpose
Developing The BAYADA Way of Operating an Office: How Things Work (Home Care) was one of the Alignment Initiatives set shortly after the 2006 Annual Meeting. It was designed to help us:
• Align with our mission, vision, core values, and beliefs
• Actualize The BAYADA Way, continuously improving critical aspects of our
organization
• Gain a common understanding of required and recommended practices to guide our daily work.
As we grow, we need to capture the “recipe” for our success to lay a solid foundation for our future. Particularly as our services and payors evolve and diversify, we need to standardize and follow clinical, financial and managerial “best” practices. By doing this, we can ensure the highest standards of compassionate, excellent, and reliable care, continue our growth and sustainability, and build a strong financial foundation. Creating common office processes also improves our ability to provide centralized support services and promotes an effective transfer of knowledge from office to office, to start-up offices, to offices offering new services, and to new directors.
This “Playbook,” as we call it, dedicated to offices providing home care services, was developed as a part of our initiative and has been adopted as policy (0-5843).
Content
This Playbook provides a set of professional standards for office operations which outlines how activities should be performed, who should be performing them, and how to measure or monitor them. It is rooted in BAYADA best practices and those methods proven success- ful by other organizations. The Home Care Operating Policy Office (HOP) is responsible for ongoing oversight and maintenance of the Playbook.
