paramount for air travel and the industry ensured
passenger security making it one of safest and secure
modes of transport for the mankind. COVID-19 has
posed the next challenge for the aerospace industry
the health of the passengers. It is heartening to know
from the aerospace experts on how the industry is
responding to this challenge. The entire aerospace
industry has come together to meet this challenge. It is
interesting to see the technologies making the aircraft
safer than the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital.
Speakers from Airbus and Boeing echoed this
perspective and how they are collaborating along with
the aerospace ecosystem to meet this challenge. The
conference revealed the standard operating procedures
put in place for the entire travel experience from origin
to the airport to aircraft to destination. AeroCON 2020
has discussed at length the current COVID-19 crisis
for the aerospace ecosystem when 62% of air travel
is down and its cascading effects. The conference
highlighted the need to bring the industry together to
meet this crisis, its immediate priorities, and the way
forward. The challenges of airlines and MROs have
been discussed. The current technology landscape
and how this technology can help in improving the
efficiencies in the ecosystem to meet the short-term
objectives while focusing on long term roadmap has
been discussed. The conference spent considerable
time discussing technology disruptions more
specifically drones and its applications in the current
and post-COVID era.
The Joint Director of civil aviation has outlined the technology providers have provided a lot of insights
measures taken by the Government of India to promote into the current digital technologies and how these
drones and its services across the value chain from digital technologies are transforming the aerospace
manufacturers to operators to end beneficiaries. The
industry.
AeroCON 2020 provided a platform for the delegates
across the globe for promoting collaboration, sharing
knowledge and best practices, exchanging ideas to help
the aerospace industry overcome the current short-term
challenges of COVID-19, and laid the foundation of
long-term objectives. The Aerospace industry has faced
many challenges in the past and emerged stronger from
each of these challenges. The pandemic has taught us
many lessons. Passenger health, safety, and security
are paramount. The ecosystem will create space for
everyone where it will be a win-win for everyone.
