STARTER SERVICE
Process:
The Starter introduces the players to the golf courses, alerts them to special condi- tions, and services, while also providing information about course amenities and services, i.e. Stop N Go, Midway, restrooms, cart restrictions and lightning policy. The Starter is the key contact in cementing the link between the Golf Shop and the Ranger Service and must assume the leadership role in ensuring the golf experience exceeds every expectation.
Practice Points:
Starter obtains Tee Sheet for the course they are on from golf shop 1 hour prior to  rst tee time.
Starter should always refer to players by name.
Starter greets players and ensures their cart is fully stocked with; pencil, scorecard, tees, damp towels, dry towels and full sand bottles, and water bottles if necessary.
After preparing the cart. Starter should con rm group tee time, inform group of course conditions, amenities before play and record cart number.
Starter should be knowledgeable of course ratings and slopes and have current course handicap information on hand.
Should also be prepared to recommend appropriate tee to guest players.
Starter can properly direct non-golf related inquiries regarding the club.
Starter coordinates the on-time logistics with the utmost professionalism and courtesy.
Starter explains cart guidelines and reminds all play accordingly.
Starter accommodates walk-on players when at all possible.
Starter is fully knowledgeable of all club rules regarding play, i.e. when a certain member can play and when guests are allowed.
Starter works directly with the caddie manager to ensure that each group has a caddie and that they are on the tee before their group.
