FAMILY ZONE: PARENTS ABILITY TO CONTROL
DEVICE ACCESS.
Many parents talk about the difficulty in controlling time on
devices, in some cases content and often the distraction that
they cause. Most of us realise that a balance is good but
being in a position to enforce it is far more problematic.
Below is a possible solution for us all. Please take the time
to read the links.
What is offered is the ability to control screen time and sites
that can be accessed. It could be that you want the devices
off at a certain time or that games and social media should
be limited to certain times. Certainly, this would be great in
the boarding house during study!

FAMILY ZONE: PROTECTING YOUR STUDENTS AT SCHOOL, AT HOME AND
EVERYWHERE IN BETWEEN.
As part of our ongoing commitment to educational
excellence and our duty of care to ensure students’ safety
and well-being, Trinity Schools Trust Board have partnered
with Family Zone to provide families with a complete
online cyber safety solution. This platform will enable the
College to protect your child during school hours (School
Zone / Mobile Zone) and you to take control at home
(Mobile Zone / Home Zone). It is a comprehensive system
that will cover all of your child's devices including their
mobile phones on both Wi-Fi and 3G/4G connected networks.

• Wrap around protection for students regardless of the internet connection
• Guardianship for boarding students
• Ability to relax rules based on age and maturity in line with NetSafe recommendations
• Adoption of best practice and best efforts to ensure students are protected
• Parental app support carried out by Family Zone
• Provide parents with a tool where they can engage with their children to have
evidence based conversations about cyber safety and responsible internet use
• Parents have flexibility outside of school hours to set rules that are appropriate for
their children
• Parents can opt to subscribe to a third party cyber expert
The school will cover the cost of School Zone and Mobile Zone. You have the option of using
Home Zone.
