SITE ANALYSIS - INTRODUCTION

Site analysis, is the process of analyzing locations
physical, mental and social characteristics of the site. The

purpose is to develop an architectural solution that will
both address and enhance its internal and external
context. We need to understand to develop a project of

any merit, its site must first be analyzed. Every site is
unique and will consist of many important elements such
as topography, plants, trees, wind direction, sun direction
          an etc.

All these elements could influence the architect’s
design process and decision making toward the project
developed. Complete analysis through these elements

will determine the buildings placement, orientation,
form, materiality and further more will influence its
structure, sustainability and internal route for movement.
Site analysis supplying a very important foundation and
critical starting point for any architectural design project. Figure 5 : Sample of site analysis

The information developed from the site analysis will
easily help the architect the right concept that can guide
the architect to construct the project properly. The

concept developed from the site analysis will easily
locally values to the building design.
