FLOOD
It had been raining cats and dogs all day. There was flood by a continuous
downpour for the past few weeks in the village. The village was flooded up to
1 metre level. The farms were destroyed and the livestock were drowned. A
hardworking man, Pak Ahmad who is a farmer was discouraged and de-
pressed. Unfortunately, his crops were damaged by the flood. His house was also inundated.
The fire and safety department rescued the villagers with motorised boats after the depart-
ment received the notice. After that this department threw away and disposed the carcasses,
mud and debris when the flood situation in the village got better. After the flood problem
had been solved, the villagers were allowed to be back home.
The scorching sun was shining in the azure blue sky but Pak Ahmad‟s mood was still
terrible. He had not more money to repair his farm and he could not afford his family living
expenses without a job. He felt his world going to pieces. He locked himself in the bedroom
and refused to speak to anyone. Luckily ,Pak Ahmad has a virtuous wife, Aminah. Aminah
gave him comfort to help him gain the strength because he needed to become independent
again.
Besides, his clever son, Ali said that he wanted to give a suggestion to Pak Ahmad.
“What is your nice suggestion?” asked Pak Ahmad inquisitively.
”I think dad can sell the clothes in the online shop.” said Ali
“ But I have no money to buy a lot of the clothes for selling.” said Pak Ahmad in low
spirits. 61
