Coloring Heads
Nano Silk takes permanent marker pens. We often use
white Nano Silk and simply use pens like Kuretake or
other permanent ink market pens to color heads on flies.
Simply use white Nano Silk and for the last 4” / 100mm of thread we use a permanent marker pen to color Nano Silk for the
color of head. A quick zap with No Tack UV and our UV torch we produce stunning colored heads for whatever fly we are tying.
This enables us to produce any color head from available marker pens.
If we are using Nano Silk on a micro dry for example and use Yellow Nano Silk 18/0 as both our thread and to produce micro
ribbing we use standard Yellow 18/0, it makes the job simple!
