Raden Wedono Larassembogo was the century's greatest drum
mer and chief of the musicians of the Yogyakarta Kraton. HE
was a lousy teacher, but a fantastic reveaier of good musician·
ship. The various sounds of this drumming are normally five
to ten, whith him they came up to twenty seven.
His polyrhythmic ability derived from Indonesian folkmusic
and it was exemplary.
