This 20-hectare site of flat, floodplain grazing land is next to the River Usk.
Paths are either tarmac, compacted earth/grass or concrete grids. Castle Meadows
is a popular spot for walking, exercising dogs and fishing. The area is part of a large
flood plain for the River Usk and as a result the ground can become flooded during
the winter and paths can become muddy. The circular route starts from Lower
Byfield Lane car park round to Mill Street. Linda Vista Gardens are formal gardens
next to Castle Meadows with flat grassy areas and paths, mostly of tarmac.
How to get there: Byfield Lane car park NP7 5DL which is signposted from the
roundabout on the A4143 in Abergavenny.

Public Transport: Abergavenny is served by several bus routes in South Wales and
also from Hereford. (TC) The meadows and gardens are a 10 min walk from the bus
station. The railway station is a 10-15 minute walk from the town on a hill.
Parking: The nearest car park is Byfield Lane with disabled parking pays.

Facilities: Abergavenny is a busy market town with shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs

There are two non-disabled toilets in Linda Vista Gardens.
