Operations commenced on the 14th August 1998 and in the twenty
remaining weeks of that year more lambs were exported than in the
entirety of 1997, and sheep prices gradually began to rise.
The picture below shows a load of lambs on one of Bruno Maes
lorries., Maes owned a large lairage in Belgium where lambs were
unloaded aer the Dover-to-Dunkirk crossing.
