the things you need to know...
Arrival
The House in the Hills is located at Caemarchog, Llanigon,
Via Hereford HR3 5RJ.
The final four miles or so are on a narrow, single track road. For detailed
directions and suggested routes, please see the back of this guide.
Keys
Keys are stored in a key safes located by the entrance doors of the
house and the barn. The combination code will be sent to you
ahead of arrival. Please remember to leave the keys in the key
safes before you leave.
Sheep
Please make sure you close all gates around the house and the
farm. We have 50 sheep on the farm who will happily munch their
way through the garden area around the house and the barn if
permitted.
Wood
Firewood for the house and the barn is stored in the wood shed at the
back of the house. Small pieces of wood for starting the fires are
stored in the green wheelie bins, again at the back of the house.
Some of the firewood is recycled and may have nails and screws
attached. Please be aware of this when handling the wood and use
the gloves provided. The wood burner in the barn can get very hot,
so again, please use the black gloves provided.
Please ensure that the fire guard in the house is in place at all
times when the fire is lit.
AGA & hobs
If you have paid for use of the AGA, it will be set up and ready for you
to use. If you haven’t paid, please don’t attempt to use it as it is very
temperamental.
The hobs are induction hobs, pans need to be situated on the hob
before adjusting heating controls etc - see manual in the house for
further instructions.
