Become part of a greener healthier future, the Energy sector requires a wealth of skills from people with varied interests and backgrounds to come together and ensure a just transition to a sustainable Wales.
Upon completing the ECITB Scholarship Programme at Pembrokeshire College
I had an opportunity to enrol on a fabrication apprenticeship with a local engineering company. As I had really enjoyed the practical welding and fabrication elements of my college course, I accepted the offer and I’m now working toward my Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering, learning new skills and gaining valuable experience.
I’m excited for the future and I am hoping for a long career in the Energy Industry, especially with the current shift toward renewables. Once I am qualified as a skilled tradesperson, I would like to eventually progress into welding inspection.

I chose an apprenticeship in the energy sector because I wanted a qualification that would lead to me being a recognised tradesman and because there are plenty of employment opportunities in my local area and across the UK. I enjoy the fact that the projects I’m working on change providing opportunities to learn new things and acquire new skills.
