P. 28

Jupiter is the supreme god of power. He spreads his power, not authority, but power, as a blanket over all institutions; whatever theirraison d?etre. It may be in the halls of politics, multi-national corporations, families, or in the structures of religion.
He cares not what cause is believed in as long as hierarchical structures of power dehumanise and diminish man. His goal is to reduce man, God?sHomo Sace,to the place of what Giorgio Agamben calls ?bare life?.
Whereas the Cross turns hierarchy into a loving, balanced and warm family, Jupiter turns hierarchies into dungeons of fear, control and abuse.
Then, in the midst of the war and perverted agriculture of Mars, and the power of Jupiter, Aphrodite, the icon of carnal knowledge reveals herself. Her goal is to sooth the troubled soul with the promise of meaning and fulfilment through sexual pleasure. Today?s sexual tidal wave is constructed from the bitter tears that flow from the hurt, the betrayed, and the used who have believed Aphrodite?s perverted promise.
Our Lord Jesus gives to men and women the fragrance of a sexuality based upon the Fruit of the Spirit. A place where love, joy, and faithfulness are nurtured in patience, gentleness, and kindness. This beauty produces goodness and peace as opposed to Aphrodite who breeds selfishness, control, addiction, cruelty, and ultimately death.
As the Lord Jesus leaps into death so that death may be destroyed, the rotten gods of the other Kingdom rise to capture and to enslave our generation in a living death.
The false gods will not win. There will be casualties.
The reality of this spiritual battle is far beyond a common bar-room brawl between a good God and a bunch of bad gods.
It is rather the establishment of a reality that is so life changing that evil itself, as a potent power, begins to move into obscurity. The great battle at the Cross was a battle between protological causality and eschatological causality.
Mars, Jupiter, and Aphrodite can only try to assume the future, create the future, and define what the future will be. That is protological causality.
Christ in God, on the Cross lives within not justwhat is, but within whatwill beas well.Mars tries to push history to a conclusion in which evil wins. The living God pulls history to a conclusion He has already chosen.
The battle is real but it has already been won. It has been won in the mind of God before anything else, other than God, existed. That is eschatological causality
Eucharistic Socialism is: Distributing the Homeopathy and Fragrance of the Cross in conscious opposition to the gods of the Spirit of the Age.
