Central to the kaleidoscopic outpouring of theological wonder is thehomeopathicaspect of the Cross.
Death is defeated by death. Sin is mysteriously defeated by the spiritual transfer of the sins of the world placed upon the spotless Lamb of God.
Satan is defeated by his own plan to destroy the Son of God.
This homeopathy of the Cross stands in stark contradiction to the Spirit of the Age or Ages that continually raise up in conscious opposition to the ?Fragrance ? Homeopathy?model.
In our own era, as N.T. Wright has reminded us, we live within the spiritual confines created and customised for the contemporary gods of the Post Modern world: Mars, Jupiter and Aphrodite.
Mars, the god of war and also the guardian of agriculture, looms large over the modern world. War is seductive because it arouses religious feeling. Paroxysms of emotional energy are released into the context of a national pride and national interest. When we pledge our troth to a nation, we have pledged our troth to an alternative Kingdom; not to the Kingdom of God.
The wars of Mars are always in the self-interest of Mars which always desires the destruction of as many people as possible.
In the 20thcentury a shift took place that made it safer, in times of war, to be a soldier than to be a civilian. The goal of Mars is not to destroy soldiers but to keep as many of them alive as possible to destroy more civilians.
Mars, like our Lord Jesus Christ has his martyrs. These martyrs though, are sacrificed on the altars of Baal and must never be misinterpreted as anything other than the property of Mars.
Jesus defeated death by His death. Mars defeats life by bringing death through war.
Mars is also the guardian of agriculture. He is genetically modifying the gift of God in the fruit of the earth and transforming it into a poison designed to humiliate its Creator.
The ?pollen-collecting agents of Heaven?, are turned into disposable corn-sugar merchants, who refuse to comply with Mars and simply die. Mars is the one who detects and injects hormones into chickens to create deformed enlarged white breasts. These tragic mutated beings are designed for one purpose only; to make people die from ill health.
Mars does not care if he destroys more people by polluted food than by bombs, guns, and bullets. His objective is total destruction, not a given methodology of death.
