Mercer turned in his chair as he called the lovely Sienna, who was getting great joy rubbing up against Mia’s shapely, long, slim leg. As he called Sienna, he saw the drapes rustle. In a flash Mia appeared and she ran like a whirlwind in the dead of night, past the two very surprised men who were trying to absorb what was happening.
Mia sped to the door, while Bannon jumped from his chair trying to stop her. But Mia was too quick for the portly, slightly drunk Steve Bannon, and Robert Mercer was too far behind.
Mercer and Bannon’s total surprise denied them an efficient and effective reaction.
Bannon tried to reach the lithe figure as she streaked past him, but he tripped on a thick, intricately handwoven rug, a prized Mercer heirloom. He had been drinking, and his senses were dulled.
At the door, Mercer stopped and turned to Bannon. “Forget it, I will call security, and they will find her.”
Bannon sat in the nearest easy chair and responded, “Why bother? She is just some non-descript server who wanted to see your books and, wanting not to be caught from her duties, slipped behind the curtains when you and I came in. We didn’t say anything of value anyways.”
Mercer just looked at Bannon in great wonderment and disgust. “You are as big a fool as the idiot in the White House. She is a loose end. I never leave loose ends.”
Mercer called security and gave clear, short instructions, as Mia urgently rushed through the party banging into the beautiful people at every angle. The reverie was at high pitch and the guests barely noticed her. She found her coat and
