St. Philip’s Adds New Technology to School Curriculum

Christmas came early at St. Philip’s! We were so excited to be able to add new technology and
curriculum to the beginning of our 2017-2018 school year. Hopefully this will be an area that we can
continue to advance and improve on from year to year. We added a new reading/literacy program from
Lexia Learning Sytems. Lexia will enhance current reading programs at St. Philip’s as well as allow
teachers to monitor individual student progress and provide research based interventions when
needed. Additionally, MacBook Air laptops were purchased for teachers to use as their main
computers, freeing up the desktop units for student use. The laptops will allow the teachers to be more
mobile and up-to-date with all their instructional information. Several projectors and carts were also obile and up-to-date with all their instructional information. Several projectors and carts were also

purchased to enable the teachers to provide instruction in the classroom directly from their laptops.
Twelve mini iPads and ten iPads were purchased for use by students in the classrooms. It is our hope
that this number can be increased each year until every student at St. Philip’s has an iPad available for
their school use.
