Established in 1957 as a groundbreaking concept for children with
multiple disabilities, Hope Learning Academy in Springfield has evolved
into a center combining excellent teaching, state-of-the art
technology and a specially designed facility to allow students
with autism and developmental disabilities to achieve their
maximum potential.
Today, our learning center is a 40,000-square-foot facility designed
with a unique way-finding system, visual supports, diffused lighting,
sound-absorbing carpet and sensory rooms within the classrooms
and playgrounds. This creative environment supports a variety of
programs designed to meet each child’s needs. Programs include:
• Therapeutic Education Program
• Independence Learning Program
• Community Integrated Classrooms
• Full and Half Day Vocational Programs
CHICAGO
Located on Chicago’s near west side, The Hope Learning Academy
Chicago is a demonstration school for the responsible inclusion of
diverse learners in a general education classroom. With nearly 300
students in grades K-5, our Chicago Academy provides a nurturing
environment in which each student receives an
individualized education.
The focus of The Hope Learning Academy Chicago is to create a
learning environment that supports students to achieve optimally,
regardless of socioeconomic background, learning style, or disability.
This is realized by creating a school that lives up to its vision – helping
students to be successful.
The Hope Learning Academy Chicago is a demonstration school within
the Chicago Public School system that serves to change the way that
children are educated in Chicago.
