A. Many poor students are discouraged to enter to the university because of
high tuitions and they go to a trade school instead.
                             B. Some of the poor students have to work and they cannot obtain a scholarship
so if the tuition is not free, the do not study.

II. It promotes equality in education.

                             A. Private schools have better campus than public and free colleges.
                             B. If more students decided to attend classes in public colleges, the government
would make a better public education.

                                                        Tuition Free
Tuition is the payment that someone gives in order to be part of an educational

institution. It is used to pay the basic needs of an establishment such as the water, the

electricity, the Internet or the phone but also to make profit that benefits the investors of the
institution. In Ecuador, most of public universities are free, but private universities have

tuitions as requirements to enter. I think that they should be free for two reasons.

One reason is that a free tuition gives the low-income students the opportunity to
study. First, Many poor students are discouraged to enter to the university because of high

tuitions and they go to a trade school instead which is an honest and a good option but is

less paid. Furthermore, some poor students have to work and they cannot obtain a
scholarship because they have more responsibilities, and if the tuition is not free, they do

not study. Otherwise, if the tuition is free, they can work and study at the same time.

Another reason to support free tuition is to promote equality in education. In fact,
private schools helps building better places, and that is unfair because all of us should have

the same conditions in education. Besides, if more students decided to attend classes in
public colleges, the government would make a better public education due to the great

                  demand of students.

To sum up, free tuition should be considered as a priority for the government

because it helps the poor students to go to the university and it promotes equal conditions in
education. Additionally, I think that at least this tuition should be cheaper because

nowadays it is too expensive like $4.000 or more per semester and free tuition would help
all students to get a better job and so a better lifestyle.

                                                                                                        50
