The inputs are randomly generated from the distribution and the design traffic calculated. The process is repeated
many times, and a distribution for the design traffic is generated.
4.7.3 Geometric Capacity Limitations
The volume of traffic that can be carried by a road is limited by its geometric capacity. The traffic volume at the end
of the analysis period must therefore be compared with the road’s capacity. The topography of the area and the
level of service required also influence the capacity of the road, and must therefore be considered.
