MONALEEN CAMOGIE NEWSLETTER
Chairperson message from James Johnson
Dear Members,
Since our Camogie Club was founded in 2008 we have grown substantially
and the community has grown along with it.
We pride ourselves on the Values of inclusion from u6’s to our newly
promoted Junior team to Intermediate.. This can not be done without the
coaches and the Volunteer’s who give their time each week.. More so now with the COVID-19 Pandemic
the help behind the scenes is tremendous mainly the COVID-19 Officers in each group that drive the safety
of not just the players but all who enter our grounds and I thank them all sincerely.
As a Camogie Club we have grown with many accolades to our credit and with over 350 members we shall
continue to drive the players in this amazing sport where the players hopefully get the fun side out of the
taking part and make many friends on and off the field of play.
Monaleen Camogie over the years have had many fundraisers to help support the growth of the club as a
whole and the main fundraiser as a club is The Club Lotto the Jackpot stands at €20,000 and if we as
members and parents help grow this lotto participation we can provide better facilities for our players and
the community over the next few years and from as little as €8.50 a month you can sign up to help the
club grow. Details of this will be sent out in the coming weeks.
Our season for 2020 has now come to an end and I am sure that 2021 will bring the Club to higher levels
within the County and the Community we shall look back in years to when the pandemic is behind us and
look favourably on the happy times whether it was at training in the rain or sunshine but the fact that we
as a Club were able continue all be it at a restricted level the fact remains that all training sessions were
full of enthusiastic players and the kick we got from all the smallies this season was infectious from the
oversized Hurley’s to the daydreamers and the singers. On behalf of all the coaches we thank you for your
support and we look forward to seeing you all next season.
Finally may I take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the year ahead.
