Introducing our Clinical Educator &
Infection Prevention Coordinator
I’m really excited about my new role as the Clinical
Educator and Infection Prevention Coordinator. I’m
passionate about education as I believe that it empowers
staff and is the key to continually improving the care and
service that we provide to our residents. I will spend time
listening to staff so that I can provide them with learning
opportunities that they will find relevant and stimulating.
I think that the two aspects of my role, clinical education
and infection prevention, complement each other well, as
an important way of preventing infections is by providing
regular up-to-date training. Of course, with the ongoing
risk of COVID-19, it has never been more important to
ensure that we are adhering to the highest standard of
infection control protocols. It’s important to remember
that infection control involves everyone all the time.
Whether you are a staff member, resident, family or a
visitor, you have a part to play in preventing the spread of
infections. Simple things like handwashing, keeping safe
distance, staying home when you’re sick and knowing
how to correctly put on and take off masks, gloves, gowns
etc. can make a huge difference to the wellbeing of our
residents, maybe even save their lives.
So far, in my short time at Cranbrook Care, I have been
hugely impressed by the infection control procedures
that are in place and by the diligence and awareness that
staff show as they go about their duties. I see my role as
supporting the staff in the excellent job they are already
doing and to provide them with the resources to
continue giving our residents the very best care.

Recognising our Staff
Gagandeep Ghumaan
Congratulations Gagandeep for achieving
our Standing Ovation award for February
2021. To thank Gagandeep for her hard
work, she has been awarded a $150
bonus. Gagandeep has developed into
one of our Senior Registered Nurses. She
is reliable and very accommodating to any
request and has recently completed
education in Changed Behaviours in
Dementia – Train the Trainer Education
and will be providing her knowledge
gained to fellow staff members.
Karla San Diego
Congratulations Karla for achieving the
Standing Ovation award for February
2021. To thank Karla for her hard work she
has been awarded a $150 bonus. Karla
has shown that she is a dedicated team
member though her willingness to work
as our Temperature and Skype Nurse
during COVID-19 together with her
willingness to upskill her nursing skills,
learn and take on the role of a medication
nurse. With her increase in skill levels
Karla is able to support the residence in
her many roles.
Eldho Maliyelil Paily
Congratulations to Eldho for achieving the
standing ovation award for April 2021.
Thank you Eldho for your hard work in the
laundry and for helping out in the kitchen
when needed. Your agreeance to working
with us on our structured laundry hours
was a credit to your work ethic.
