6 WILLIAM CAPE NEWS, SUMMER 2021
Meet
Patricia Aylmore
I was born on 30 October 1929 in Western
Australia. I was the daughter of Cyril and Doreen
Aylmore and was named Patricia Alymore or Pat
as I like to be called.
I lived on a 1000 acre farm in Western Australia
with my parents, uncle, auntie and brother
Graham. We raised sheep and there were other
animals such as horses, cows, chickens. Back
then we grew our own food.
I enjoyed attending the local school, but the
land was the life I really enjoyed, along with
spending time with my family. When I left
school I became a hairdresser. I met and fell in
love with my first husband John Shaw (Baritone)
who was a famous opera singer we married and
For The Diary had two children my daughter Sidonie, and son
Nicolas.
Date Event
I became the Mistress of wigs for the opera
company. Once we were travelling to England
1 December Christmas Decorations Day
and the opera company wanted my husband to
play a lead role in Verdi’s Rigoletto. We were
16 December Residents Christmas Party
about to board a boat to England when they
took him by plane so he could get there faster. I
20 December Christmas Carols
travelled by boat and met up with him later,
when I caught up with him he was already in
TBA Christmas Lights Tour rehearsals.
4 January Firsts Day
We later divorced and I married Maxwell George
but we also divorced.
Celebrating Elvis Presley’s
10 January
Birthday I purchased a house in Kanwal where I had a fall
and was quiet lonely. But I now reside at William
27 January Australia Day BBQ & Games Cape Gardens and enjoy the company of others,
we have activities, and I love chatting in the
1 February Chinese New Year
dining room with my friends. I cannot falter the
care I receive here and know this is where I need

to be.
